bindiThe internet community is accustomed to random celebrity death hoaxes every now and then.

But this time, there really wasn’t any malicious intent behind the latest news trend of a celebrity’s untimely demise.

Steve Irwin’s daughter, Bindi, was on the unlucky end of a trend glitch, which can happen when search engines create trends based on wrong word association patterns.

When internet users searched for “Steve Irwin’s daughter,” the phrase somehow became mixed with stories about her Crocodile Hunter dad’s death.

While the internet went into a frenzy about the false death of Bindi, the 14-year-old was tweeting pictures at the beach.

Although there was no mysterious internet troll behind this “death,” the erroneous trend did upset many of the wildlife activist’s fans.
