Capture 3NEW YORK (PIX11) — After a four hour standoff with a murder suspect’s family Tuesday morning, a police search in Lower Manhattan has turned up empty.

Cops were serving a warrant to arrest James Sider, a suspect in connection with the 2010 shooting of a Pace University student, at a Lower East Side apartment but garnered unsuccessful results this afternoon.

James Sider, 31, is the third person wanted for shooting Max Moreno, a low level drug dealer, at his apartment.

Sider’s mother refused to let policemen in the apartment for four hours until she finally submitted. Previous media reports said Sider was holding the occupants inside as hostages. Deputy Commissioner Paul Brown had this to say ” We have heard other voices in there, possibly  younger voices,. So we are taking precautions of bringing in hostage negotiation.”

However only his mother and brother were in the home, according to authorities.

Police continue to search for Sider.
