QUEENS (PIX11) – It was a gruesome scene in Astoria Tuesday after a man jumped in front of a train in Astoria and his body parts fell to the busy street below.
MTA officials confirm a man jumped in front of a northbound “N” train at the Broadway station — which is elevated — just after 4 p.m.
The man’s body parts then fell through the tracks and onto the ground at 31st Street and Broadway.
Twitter users posted images of the carnage — the man’s body parts strewn across street — which can be seen here.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene and has not yet been identified, the FDNY said.
Both “N” and “Q” trains are bypassing the Broadway station as the investigation continues.
