Parking tickets can add up quickly in New York City.
Here’s a reason to take care of them as soon as you can. A program (started about a year ago in Brooklyn and Queens) is expanding city wide.
NYC Department of Finance Commissioner David Frankel says booting cars benefit drivers who will not have to go to one of the city’s tow yards.
He says it’s not an effort to generate money for the city.
The pilot program resulted in about 4200 “bootings,” the Finance Department reports.
