A Brooklyn public housing police officer gunned down his wife in the middle of the street Wednesday evening, according to the NYPD.
Sherlon Smikle, 33, chased his wife — a school safety agent — down the street with a shotgun and shot her four times — reportedly because she came home late and didn’t cook dinner.
Smikle then went inside the home and turned the gun on himself. He was found with one gunshot wound to the head.
Law enforcement officials say that Smikle recently had his police-issused weapon taken away because of a domestic dispute with his wife.
The couple’s eight-year-old child was not home at the time.
