Tropical Storm Andrea has just formed 300 miles off the Florida Gulf Coast. Winds are estimated to be 40 mph and slowly drifting north at 3 mph.
Tropical storm warnings have been issued for the west coast of Florida including Tampa. A watch has been issued from northeast Florida coastline to the Carolinas.
Landfall is possible by Thursday night; however, forecasters do not expect any major changes on the intensity.
The storm could produce a surge between 2-4 feet along the coast and 3-6 inches of rainfall across the state. There could be a few spots where 8 inches of rainfall is possible.
Moisture associated with the storm will head our way Thursday night with the brunt of the storm by Friday night into Saturday.
At this point 2-5 inches of rainfall and gusty winds is not out of the question.
