My wife and I watched HBO’s “Behind the Candelabra” — the story about Liberace and that other guy.
And I remember as a kid watching him with my Sicilian grandmother and my aunts, her sisters. And I kept thinking that we either didn’t know Liberace was gay at the time or did know but didn’t care.
He was – well, Liberace. We called him flamboyant but not gay. But it just didn’t matter.
So why does it now?
