MANHATTAN (PIX11) – It’s that time of year again when the sun aligns with the East-West streets of Manhattan — also called ‘Manhattanhenge’.

The striking phenomenon allows people in Brooklyn and Queens to watch the sun set on the other side of the island.  It happens twice when half of the sun is visible, and another two times when the sun is entirely visible.

Here is the rundown of Manhattanhenge dates for this year:

Half sun is visible:

May 28 8:16 P.M. EDT
July 13 8:24 P.M. EDT

Full sun is visible:

May 29 8:15 P.M. EDT
July 12 8:23 P.M. EDT

If you took any picture of Manhattanhenge today, please share them on our Facebook page to be part of Mr. G’s 10 p.m. forecast!
