ASBURY PARK, N.J. (PIX11) — Residents of Asbury Park are buzzing about a big visit Tuesday. President Barack Obama is scheduled to tour the New Jersey Shore and speak at the Asbury Park Convention Hall Tuesday afternoon.
Obama returns to the shore following a visit right after Superstorm Sandy when he toured the damage with Governor Chris Christie.
Obama is once again expected to meet with the governor and get an update on rebuilding efforts. He is also expected to meet with local families and business owners as the important summer season kicks off.
Hundreds of people waited in line Sunday to get tickets for Obama’s speech.
While many businesses along the shore have signs out front that say “now open”, not everyone is so lucky. In the hardest hit areas of the coastline, some people are still out of their homes and businesses are still closed.
