KENTUCKY (CNN)– A school bus carrying a girls’ softball team crashed in Kentucky on Friday, injuring more than two dozen people.
It took five different EMS services and every fire department in the county to get all 21 students, the driver, the coach and two more adults off this bus.
“There were a few students that had to be extricated by mechanical means, the jaws of life, to get out.”
“The bus is lying on its passenger side on the eastbound shoulder of u.s. 60.”
But officers say the bus was actually originally headed the opposite direction. You can see the skid marks where the bus went off the road, spun halfway around and then tipped over.
Everyone inside was thrown from their seats.
“When you have 25 injured that takes a lot of resources from a lot of counties.”
They even had to bring in something that could carry up to ten patients at a time.
One person was also airlifted but not because of injuries, because it was the only way to get them to treatment.
