If you live in the city, expect to pay a little bit more in rent.

The Rent Guidelines Board held a preliminary vote on next year’s rent increases.

The board decided New Yorkers should pay more for rent stabilized apartments and single room occupancies.

If approved, the hikes would be between three and six percent on one year leases and five and nine percent on two year leases.
