Body discovered in shallow grave believed to be missing Queens neighbor

RIDGEWOOD, Queens (PIX11) –  Neighbors in Ridgewood, Queens believe a body found in a shallow grave is that of 60-year-old Frank Soucie who has been reported missing for a week.

“I am devastated, he never bothered anybody,” a neighrbor named Anna Marie told PIX11.

Sources tell PIX 11 News a neighbor called police Tuesday after seeing someone throw out a large trash bag. When police arrived they found a burnt sleeping bag inside the large bag that had been thrown away.

Police searched the Ridgewood home and found gloves and ammonia on the roof. While on the roof, they also discovered what appeared to be fresh dirt in the backyard. They dug up the dirt and found the remains in shallow grave.

“I can’t believe this, he was a good person.” said Carmen Colon, a neighbor. ” They found burnt blankets and everything.”

Soucie, is a retired postal worker. Police have not confirmed the identity of the body found.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause of death.
