(PIX11) – Ever hear of Emeli Sandé? If not, this may come as a shock. The Scottish singer has broken a record held by the Beatles for 50 years.
Yesterday her debut album, Our Version of Events, entered its 63rd week in the top 10 of the UK album charts–thereby eliminating the record for longest charting debut album held by the Fab Four since 1963. The album was Please Please Me.
While Sandé isn’t exactly a household name in the U.S. she’s become quite the big deal across the pond. She performed at the opening and closing ceremonies of the London Olympics, and won two awards at the UK’s Brit Awards.
