Friends, family and members of the Boston Police Department said goodbye to the MIT officer killed by the bombing suspects.

27-year-old Sean Collier was gunned down in his car last Thursday.

Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis is calling his murder a vicious assassination.

Collier — whose friends say was born to be a cop — was laid to rest during a private service.

A public memorial service will be held Wednesday at MIT.
