A somber Mark Wahlberg appeared at the “Pain and Gain” premiere; the Boston native called the attack “disgusting”.

Boston native Mark Wahlberg had to go before the cameras at the New York premiere of his latest film, “Pain and Gain”, just hours after tragedy struck the marathon in his hometown on Monday.

“I really didn’t even want to come tonight. I hadn’t really heard much — I spoke to my mom, and most of my family seems to be OK. It’s such a big event, there’s so many people there. It’s horrible man. It’s (expletive) disgusting, man. I just – I’m very upset,” Wahlberg told reporters Monday night.

The 41-year-old actor was born in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts.

“You try to put everything in God’s hands and whatever happens here is out of our control and there’s a bigger picture. But it’s still obviously upsetting,” Wahlberg said.
