SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA (PIX11)– A community is mourning the death of 15-year-old Austin Price, a teenager who was hit and killed by an oncoming Amtrak train.
The incident took place on Thursday at a train station in San Francisco Bay.
Authorities say Price and two other boys were playing a game of “chicken” on the tracks near San Lorenzo High School.
Price failed to get out of the way in time and was struck around 6 p.m.
The two other teens were not injured.
The principal of the school says the train is a constant concern as the entire community walks near the tracks and students hang out there on a daily basis.
