(PIX11)- The mother of a Sandy Hook massacre victim delivered President Obama’s weekly radio address on Saturday.
Francine Wheeler, who lost her 6-year-old son Ben, was joined by her husband.
Her tearful plea included a plea to the Senate to come together and pass common sense gun reform. She went on to say the time for real change is now.
The president tweeted a message out on Friday urging his followers and the rest of the nation to listen to the Newtown mother’s story.
New gun legislation cleared a major hurdle in the Senate this week with a vote to block a GOP led filibuster.
If the bill passes the Senate, it still faces an uphill climb in the republican-controlled House.
