WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (PIX11) – She attained fame playing the title character in 1988’s “The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking,” but Tami Erin is back in the headlines 25 years later after allegedly assaulting her roommate.
TMZ reports Erin was placed under a citizen’s arrest by a neighbor on Thursday who heard her arguing with a male roommate. The roommate reportedly called out for help, and that’s when the neighbor rushed in to help until the cops arrived.
Erin, now 38, was charged with assault and released Friday morning. TMZ reports the roommate has no visible injuries, and the DA is now reviewing the case.
Erin won the role of Pippi Longstocking when she was just 11 years old, beating out 8,000 other young actresses, but she’s had little success since then. Her most recent appearance was in 2010 in Tim and Eric’s Awesome Christmas Special.
