NEW YORK (PIX11)- A 29-year-old man learned a hard lesson; you have to watch what you say at an airport.

Jason Michael Cruz was at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Thursday with the intentions of flying to Los Angeles.  While waiting for their flight, Cruz told a friend that the sandwich he was eating was “the bomb,” and chaos ensued.

A TSA agent overheard him thought he was talking about explosives.

The pair were questioned and held until airport cops arrived, causing Cruz to miss his flight.

Cruz and his friend were released when the TSA agent said she only heard a portion of the conversation.

Turns out the 12-inch sandwich from Sal, Kris and Charlie’s Deli in Astoria is called ‘The Bomb’ because its packed with cold cuts, cheese and toppings.

No charges were filed.
