Brick attack leaves Queens girl in critical condition

ASTORIA, QUEENS (PIX11) — Cops are on the hunt for a man accused of brutally beating a 16 year old girl in an Astoria alley in Astoria, Queens and they want you to help them catch him.

It was a bad beat down and sources tell PIX11 News the attacker used  a brick. The N.Y.P.D. released surveillance video of a suspect running from the scene. Cops say he was caught on camera at about 11:45 Tuesday night when he and a 16 year old girl walked into an alley next to 22-63 43rd Street.  That’s where cops say he beat the teen before running away.  He smashed her head with the brick according to sources.

Nestor Savila lives near the crime scene with his wife and daughter. “When I left at 4 in the morning I saw a cop van and there was crime tape and a brick was laying there. It was bad .” he said. A woman who lives in the building next door told PIX 11 ” I saw her.  The girl looked horrible. Her head and face were bleeding all over.”

The teen was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital where she is listed in critical but stable condition with head injuries according to police.

The guy is described as Black, 6 ft tall, wearing a dark jacket, white tee shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers and dark gloves.  If you recognize him or know anything about the case you are asked to call Crime Stoppers.  The number is 1-800-577-TIPS.
