A Coney Island landmark is getting ready to reopen.

The New York Aquarium was shut down five months ago when super storm Sandy flooded the basement.

That’s where electrical life support systems and electrical distributions are stored.

The aquarium’s director says his staff has worked hard to save the 12-thousand animals who live at the aquarium.

The public will be allowed back for the first time on May 25th, though much of the museum is still closed.

It could be two years before the entire aquarium is back up and running.
