The Upper West Side nanny accused of stabbing two children to death is fit to stand trial, a Manhattan judge ruled Friday.

Yoselyn Ortega, 50, tried to cut her own throat after she allegedly killed the young children she was taking care of — 2-year-old Leo Krim and his sister, 6-year-old Lucia Krim. With her neck now healed, she appeared in court with the scar visible beneath her gray prison-issue shirt, tortoise shell glasses and her hair in corn rows.

After a review of her reportedly “voluminous” medical records, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Gegory Carro said, “Both psychiatrist find the defendant can in a meaningful way assist in her own defense and have found her fit to proceed to trial.

Marina Krim, the children’s mother, was the first to find the bloody scene at the couple’s West 75th St. apartment on Oct. 25 when she returned home that evening.  Both children’s bodies had been placed in the bathtub, and Ortega was in one of the bedrooms trying to cut open her own throat, according to police.
