More than 150 animals were discovered in a horrific scene inside a Medford, Long Island home Tuesday.
The 70-year-old woman who owned the now condemned home kept a menagerie of animals that included dogs, cats, lizards, parrots, turtles, birds, chinchillas, rabbits, ferrets, hamsters and rats — including multiple dead ones.
The Yaphank Fire Dept. was called to release the awful stench that had built up inside the house, which the woman reportedly shared with her daughter.
A neighbor alerted authorities after hearing dogs inside the home barking.
