Dennys, America’s Diner, could be coming to New York City.   You read correctly, Denny’s could be coming to New York for the first time ever in the most unlikeliest of places – across the street from City Hall.

The greasy menu with items like Caramel Bacon Stuffed French Toast and Move over My Hammy isn’t the poster menu for healthy eating – but it is cheap.   The $5 All-American Breakfast is perfect for Pace University students who are right across the street from 150 Nassau Street, the restaurant’s potential future home.

So, besides it being the first in New York, why is this news you ask?   Well, residents who live above 150 Nassau in multi-million dollar condos don’t want it.   They say the greasy grill will spread the odors to their apartments on top of the fact that they don’t want large crowds funneling through the streets below.

The plan would keep Denny’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

PIX11 spoke to a few residents who say that the low-budget restaurant isn’t good enough for the area.   On the flip side, they didn’t deny that they may try a Grand Slam breakfast.

As for when the Denny’s will be moving in, no date has been set.
