One queens family is searching for answers tonight after their loved one was struck by a hit and run driver over the weekend.

Ronnie Aminov is still fighting for his life at New York Hospital in Queens.  Family and friends say the 29-year-old was hit by a driver who fled the scene over on Union Turnpike early Saturday morning.  Now the family says they’re offering a reward for anyone who has information leading to an arrest.

Irena Aminov says she knew something  wasn’t right as soon as she got the phone call.  After a night out with friends Saturday, her twin brother Ronnie was hit by a car while walking home.

Police say a silver nissan jumped the curb, hit Aminov, and took off.  The passenger side rear view mirror was torn off in the accident.  Witnesses stayed at the scene covering Ronnie in a blanket until the ambulance arrived.

Ronnie was taken to New York Hospital in Queens where he is still in critical condition.  Now four days after the accident the family continues to urge the driver to come forward and take responsibility.

In the meantime, the family returns to the hospital each day to pray for the budding fashion designer, friend, and brother.

And the family says they are now working with crime stoppers and are offering a 10-thousand dollar reward to anyone who can provide information leading to an arrest. They ask that you call crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
