Although Wednesday is the first day of spring, don’t expect warm weather just yet.
The region –and much of the nation–is well below normal temperature for this time of year and the spring time weather is nowhere in sight.
Monday afternoon into Tuesday will bring a messy mix of snow and rain which could make for an icy commute. The northern suburbs may see snow accumulations of one to four inches. The storm system will leave some left over rain for the first day of spring.
Temperatures will remain about 10 degrees cooler than normal for springtime for the rest of the week, so don’t put your winter coats in storage just yet.
