When the new pope was elected, it was history in the making–he is the first Pope from the Southern Hemispher and the first Jesuit. Father James Keenan and Jack Raslowsky, president of Xavier High School, stopped to talk to PIX11’s Sukanya Krishnan about the Jesuits. They both work at Xavier High School in Manhattan, a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory school. They explained more about the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) which was founded in 1540 by St. Ignatius Loyala as a religious order in the Roman Catholic Church.
