Thousands of drivers ticketed by red light cameras in New Jersey may be getting their money back.

Thanks to a class-action lawsuit claiming the cameras were improperly calibrated to the yellow light at intersections in 18 towns.  Fined drivers will receive $4.2 million — which boils down to only $6 to $10 per driver.

The refund applies fines dished out to some 500K drivers before July 25 in Jersey City, Linden and Rahway; the boroughs of Glassboro, Palisades Park and Roselle Park; and the townships of Brick, Deptford, East Brunswick, East Windsor, Gloucester, Lawrence, Monroe, Piscataway, Pohatcong, Union, Wayne and Woodbridge.
