ROME (PIX11)- A chimney has been added to the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel for the election of the new pope.

The first smoke is expected to drift out on Tuesday evening.

That’s when the church will begin the process of elections.

The vote will take place after mass on Tuesday morning, ballots due that afternoon.

If black smoke comes out of the chimney, from Wednesday on two votes will be held morning and afternoon until a new pope is chosen.

So far there has not been a front-runner for the job.

When a candidate reaches 77 votes, they will be named the new pope.
