After announcing an ambitious goal to address almost all of the repair orders at the city’s housing complexes, the administration is finalizing a plan to organize and prioritize them.
The New York City Housing Authority estimates there are as many as 420,000 jobs to complete. NYCHA’s Chairman and Mayor Bloomberg say most of them will be repaired by January 2014.
The Housing Authority hopes to present specifics to the public and reporters within the next few days. In the meantime, PIX11 News Reporter Greg Mocker has been tracking some work orders.
He met with neighbors at the Nostrand Houses, where heating and lighting have led to dozens of repair requests. Mocker also highlighted a leak in one kitchen at the Coney Island Houses. That repair was made the next day.
