A year after her untimely death, the FBI has released records pertaining to a number of investigations involving Whitney Houston.

According to the agency, the records released included one involving an apparent extortion attempt in 1992 on the Newark native, which was later deemed inconclusive.

Also included in the 128-page file, was two suspected criminal threats to Houston found in fan mail in 1988 and 1999. Agents found no criminal evidence linked to the threats.

The files were heavily redacted and did not contain any new personal information.

Houston was found dead in a tub of her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in February of 2012. Toxicology reports later determined that she had accidentally drowned in the bathtub due to the effects of chronic cocaine use and heart disease.
