HARLEM, NEW YORK (PIX11)- The dance world is welcoming back a favorite!
Dance Theater of Harlem is re-launching its touring company.
Arthur Mitchell founded the company in 1969.
It was the first to feature black dancers in classical roles.
In 2004, its touring company was struggling with debt and was forced to shut down.
But after fundraising efforts and grants, the curtain is rising again.
Dance Theater of Harlem kicks off its new first New York City season in April at Lincoln center.
