You read it right… Man’s best friend put a bullet it’s owner… by accident of course.
Gregory Dale Lanier, 35, of Frostproof Florida was driving in his Ford F250 pick-up truck down State Road 17 with his pup on Saturday, when the canine kicked a loaded gun on the floor and shot him in the leg.
Lanier told Sebring police that he was not aware that his gun was loaded when he placed it on the center hub of his pick up truck.
According to the Daily News, police said the hand gun was a Berretta 9mm semi-automatic pistol with the safety off. He also had a Marlin rifle with a scope attached to it and several cases of ammo in his truck.
Police did not take the dog into custody, and ruled the shooting to be an accident.
