The nephew of New York Giants owner John Mara was arrested in connection to a New Year’s Eve brawl that nearly left a man dead.
According to authorities, John Mara – who shares the same name as his uncle – surrendered to Connecticut police on Friday following a 2-month investigation over the incident where the 22-year-old is accused of hitting a man over the head with a bottle.
The attack reportedly happened at a party on Fairfield Beach Road on Dec. 31, 2012.
Mara, a resident of Mount Kisco, was charged with first-degree assault and breach of peace. He was released after posting $150,000 bond.
He is due back in court March 8.
