A 19-year-old SUNY Stony Brook student died after stumbling into an East Village apartment building lobby and collapsing early Saturday morning after partying with friends, according to police.

Officers found Jocelyn Pascucci unconscious around 5 a.m. in the lobby of 125 E. 12th St. near Third Ave.  She was taken to Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan where she was pronounced dead.

According to the New York Post , “Pascucci, a Marine Vertebrate Biology major, got separated from friends and walked a short distance to the apartment building, wearing only one shoe, police sources said. A doorman told cops he let her into the building because she looked cold and drunk.”

Pascucci’s parents called their daughter’s cell phone that night after they didn’t hear from her and told the Daily News : “The doorman, who gave his name as Angel, told them their daughter was in bad shape.” Her father Richard Pascucci said, “She was disoriented and slurring. We thought she was drunk. We thought we were going to pick her up, take her home and yell at her tomorrow morning. But by the time we got there, the fire department was there doing CPR on her in the foyer.”

Stony Brook Student Dies

Stony Brook student Jocelyn Pascucci, 19, was found slurring and shivering outside 125 E. 12th St.; a doorman invited her into the lobby, where she collapsed.

Pascucci’s parents say she suffered from adrenal hyperplasia and needed to take daily medication, a condition that could have contributed to her death.

In her profile on the Arts, Culture & Humanities profile Pascucci described herself, writing, “I consider myself artsy, as I like drawing, painting, and all other sorts of art-based things. My hobbies include reading, shopping, drinking lots of coffee, watching nature documentaries (I’m kind of science nerd!), and just hanging around with friends.”

An autopsy will be performed Sunday.
