Imagine opening the door to your SUV, and coming eyeball to eyeball with an owl.
That’s exactly what a Florida woman said happened to her.
She was driving at 60 mph on the Florida turnpike Thursday night, when she hit a bird. She said she was upset about turning the poor animal into road kill, and was sure it was dead.
It was so dark, she didn’t stop.
On Friday afternoon, however, things got downright bizarre.
“A family pulled in front of my parking spot and flagged me down and said, ‘Don’t move, don’t move, you have something in the grill of your truck,” said Sonji Coney Williams.
Sure enough, it was the owl she thought she had killed the day before. Miraculously, the bird was uninjured and a Florida Fish and Wildlife officer was able to free it by popping the hood of the SUV.
