The Navy SEAL who is credited with taking down Osama Bin Laden with three rounds to his head is opening up in a very candid interview where he reveals shocking personal and financial struggles after serving his country.
In the interview with Esquire, the man identified as only “The Shooter,” opens up about his life – after retiring from the Navy and giving 16 years of service.
The former Navy SEAL says he’s currently unemployed and struggling to make ends meet. Because he was 4 years short of the 20 years minimum to be eligible for a pension, he has no funds coming in.
“The Shooter” talked about living in fear of plots seeking revenge for the death of Bin laden, so much so that his family is considering changing their names and as his wife put it “deleting him from our lives” for safety reasons.
The entire compelling interview – titled “The Man Who Killed Osama bin Laden… is screwed” – appears in the March issue of Esquire.
