NEW YORK (PIX11)– It may be fun to look at, or even kick, but to actually walk in this slushy mess is another story.
“It’s cold and wet,” one New Yorker said.
And while the city is working to clear the main streets,
“We have 2,200 pieces of equipment plowing and salting streets,” Mayor Bloomberg said.
Businesses are also required to do their own cleanup. New York law states each must clear snow, ice, or dirt four hours after snow stops falling.
As snow and slush turns to ice tonight, the obvious warnings come out: be careful when walking, and try to stay indoors as dark ice is expected to formulate.
