Brooklyn’s Long Island College Hospital is history.

Today, state officials voted unanimously  to close the cash-strapped institution.

The State University of New York controls the hospital; board members chose to close it to save the parent organization, SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

More than 2,000 workers will get their walking papers.

Long island College Hospital has been servicing cobble hill and the surrounding neighborhood for 150 years.
