NEW JERSEY, (PIX11)- Two fires broke out in New Jersey on Saturday. In Newark, a fire broke out on Palm Street just before 10 in morning. A man, in his 80’s, was pulled out of the burning house. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The man lived alone; his name has not been released until authorities notify his family. In Elizabeth a four-alarm fire broke out a mere two hours later. That blaze destroyed a five-story vacant apartment building that was under construction. It took more than a hundred firefighters to bring it under control. No one was hurt.
