BROOKLYN (PIX11) – A woman was struck and killed by a bus Friday morning in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn, as her husband watched in horror.
According to authorities, the incident happened the intersection of East 105th Street and Avenue K at about 7:15 a.m.
The bus driver reportedly ran a stop sign at East 105th Street as he turned on to Avenue K and struck the woman who was crossing the street to go to a bus stop. Her husband, identified by NBC New York as Michael Ferguson, had just dropped her off and witnessed the entire incident.
The 40-year-old woman, who was not identified, was killed almost instantly, authorities said. The bus driver remained at the scene and waited for police to arrive.
Authorities were still on the scene late Friday morning investigating. No arrests were made.
