After delivering his second and final inauguration speech, President Obama stopped while walking in from the cold to take one last, memorable look.

The president turned on the Capitol’s West Front steps and stared out at the throngs of onlookers on the National Mall.

“I’m going to take a look one more time,” Obama was overheard saying, “I’m not going to see this again.”

It was a powerful moment for the 44th president, who had just addressed a crowd that, while smaller than the 2009 turnout, stretched for blocks along the National Mall.
