With “The Carrie Diaries” debuting last night on PIX11, fans have witnessed the cool fashion craft from the show.  In the episode, Carrie’s younger sister spills nail polish on an expensive bag which has tremendous sentimental value.  …The creative fashion solution–splash other nail polish on it and make it something totally fabulous.  DailyCandycom style style correspondent Rebekah George showcased easy crafts you can do to vamp up your old wardrobe.  Check out her tips on added flower power to your collar, making your own one-of-a-kind Kentucky Derby hat and snazzing up clutch by adding strips of color.

Micro Florals

-White button down


-Fabric paint

-Fabric markers

How to do it:

-Create flower by crumpling up foil and dipping in paint

-Stamp on shirt

-Leave negative space to create the design

-Vary colors

-Draw on petals with the marker


Kentucky Derby Hat

What you need:

-Vintage hat

-Vintage scarf

-Grommet kit

-Sharpie Marker



How to do it:

-Mark a spot and place the grommet

-Hammer in grommet

-Fold scarf and weave through the grommet holes and tie in the back

Striped Clutch

-Fabric paint

-Roller brush

-Painters tape

How to do it:

-Create sections with painters tape

-Paint sections to create the stripes
