NEW YORK (PIX11) – Four men have been charged in connection with an attempted robbery that led to the shooting of an off-duty police officer.
Prosecutors say Thursday night, two men walked into a Bronx car dealership owned by the family of officers Juan Pichardo and tried to rob it at gunpoint.
Pichardo struggled with one of the robbers and was shot in the leg.
He was treated at the hospital and has since been released.
The alleged shooter and three other men were later arrested.
They were arraigned on charges including assault and robbery.
