Unleaded gasoline leads to lower crime rate?

Researchers say there’s been a big drop in the crime rate across the United States in the last decade – possibly in part because of  unleaded gasoline.

Some researchers believe outlawing leaded gasoline back in the mid 1990s caused the crime rate to drop dramatically, 75 percent in some cities.

High lead levels have long been known to cause birth defects, lower intelligence and hearing problems.

But now researchers are finding it also causes high levels of aggression.
