Two NYPD officers suffered gunshot wounds after confronting a subway rider in Brooklyn Thursday night.
The shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m. on the N train itself near the Fort Hamilton Parkway Station, according to Paul J. Browne, the NYPD’s chief spokesman.
One officer was shot in the leg and was taken to Lutheran Hospital, as was the second officer who was grazed in the back. Their condition is not known.
Police shot and killed the suspect, but the circumstances are still unclear.
No passengers on the train were injured during the shooting.
In another shooting in the Bronx earlier today, an off-duty officer suffered a gunshot wound during an interrupted robbery.
The shooting in Brooklyn disrupted train service to Fort Hamilton Parkway. Straphangers should expect delays on the N line.
