Fewest civilian fire deaths in NYC history in 2012

It was a banner year for the FDNY.

The city saw both the fewest ever civilian deaths caused by fire, and the fastest ambulance response time for life threatening injuries.

There were 58 fire deaths in 2012.

It took an average of six and a half minutes for emergency crews to answer calls.
