It is Christmastime in Rhode Island, and Tony Lepore is busy rocking around the traffic circle.
Lepore, 65, began dancing and directing traffic in 1984, when he was working as a traffic cop in Providence. Lepore and his moves quickly became a sensation with city residents and the police force.
His performance gained so much popularity that even after he left the force in 1998, city officials asked him to come back at Christmastime and spread some holiday cheer. For the past 10 years Lepore has been doing just that, dancing and directing traffic for $1,200.
