‘Tis the season for tipping and Kiplinger’s has gathered some guidelines to keep you from pulling your hair out.

Hairstylists, manicurists, barbers and the like, should be tipped the cost of one visit.

For doormen, $25 to $100, and $15 to $50 for handymen.  Dog walkers should get one week’s pay.

And for trash collectors, the recommended amount is $10 to $30.

But make sure you know the rules as some cities and towns prohibit tipping trash collectors.

Postal workers are also prohibited from accepting cash, or gifts worth more than $20.
