There may be a break in the elevator robbery case.  Cops say they are questioning a guy in connection with the robbery of 85-year-old Yvonne Shirwell and three other stick-ups of women in elevators this month.

Shirwell was knocked to the ground and robbed in the elevator of her West 13th Street building Saturday night.   But cops say they are also questioning an unidentified man about three other robberies in elevators and they’ve released pictures of him.

The first robbery was on December 4th in Far Rockaway, another occurred on December 8th in the East Village and another on Sunday in Gramercy Park.

In all three of the robberies the thug had a gun.

When Shirwell was robbed, the guy took her wedding band, even though her husband lay dying in the hospital.

Cops say the process of building a case could take some time.  The suspect is being held at the Manhattan Robbery Squad on East 12th Street and will be placed in line-ups.
